What does Pareto² mean? Pareto generally means the 80/20 rule. In business, usually 40% of your problems come from one root cause. Pick one of your company’s top measurements. Define that measure with data and stratify your nonperformance data into a pareto analysis. This pareto identifies the root causes which caused the non-performance. Identify the number one root cause (#1 pareto) and stratify it’s non-performance data into its own pareto analysis. This method identifies your #1 root cause of your #1 root cause. We call this the pareto of the pareto, or Pareto². When you get to this low level of specificity, you can solve your root cause of your root cause and consequently improve your company’s top measurement. This methodology is a reiterative process that can accelerate throughout your entire company, including sales.
